I am passionate about music. I am also passionate about words. I believe that the correct use of both music and words within a given context is vitally important. I combine my extensive experience in the music world (as composer, performer and administrator) with my aptitude for clear and creative writing, in order to assist music practitioners to create coherent and well-worded music-related articles. I proofread and create content for music articles relating to (for example) education, publicity and analyses of works, and also offer my services as a lyricist.
I have been a musician, singer and songwriter in the informal music arena for nearly five decades, and in the formal sector since enrolling for a music degree in 2001, subsequently achieving my MA (Music) degree cum laude. I also have a solid background in the arts, having studied languages at the University of Cape Town. Besides composing and performing music, I have worked as a music administrator, concert organiser, music teacher and curator of both New Music and folk festivals.
