Odyssey

The band Bona-Fide was originally called Odyssey, and in my heart and memory still retains that name. It evolved organically after the meeting of three musicians at the newly founded Durban Folk Club in the late eighties. With a common interest in vocal harmony and guitars, Will Wallace, David Atkinson and I started out playing covers of acoustic greats like Crosby Stills and Nash and James Taylor. I tuned my songwriting focus to fit the group's arrangements, and we began to incorporate our own songs into our gigs. We set up our own recording studio in my basement, with an analogue 8-track Fostex, acquiring better mics and processors as we slowly completed the project. The album was finally released on cassette in 1992. I used the down time in 2020 to digitize the master and the CD is now available for sale through the contact form.
